The Aadhaar based Biometric Attendance System (BAS) was formally launched in the Directorate of Home Guards and Civil Defence on 3rd July 2018 by Shri. l. Toshitsungba Aier, IPS Director General, Home Guards and Civil Defence as part of the 100 days program of the PDA government. The program was held at the conference hall of Home Guards and Civil Defence.
The Director General, expressed the hope that with the introduction of the BAS, the performance of the employees would improve and transparency would be maintained in attendance of the employees. He also acknowledged the contribution made by the IT department in the installation of the BAS in the Department.
